The sample was knit using one main colour and 3 different contrasting colours (sometimes using up to 3 strands of yarn per row for the colourwork). If you don’t feel that this is your cup of tea, the pattern offers a different chart to knit this sweater using only 1 contrasting colour for a result that is different but just as lovely!
Also, the pattern comes with instructions on how to knit an A-line or straight body.
You will need approximately 828 (994, 1138, 1245, 1371) 1519, 1696, 1880, 2082 metres / 906 (1087, 1246, 1361, 1499) 1661, 1855, 2056, 2277 yards of fingering / light DK yarn (shown here in The Little Grey Sheep British Hampshire 4 Ply, colourway ‘A Little of What You Fancy’); and
Approximately 18 (18, 20, 20, 25) 25, 30, 30, 33 metres / 20 (20, 22, 22, 27) 27, 33, 33, 36 yards each of 3 contrasting colours (shown here in The Little Grey Sheep British Hampshire 4 Ply minis; hot pink, lavender and light grey); or 54 (54, 60, 60, 75) 75, 90, 90, 99 metres / 60 (60, 66, 66, 81) 81, 99, 99, 108 yards of 1 contrasting colour if using the chart provided at the end of the pattern
3.5 mm / US 4 circular needle and DPN’s (adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge)
3.25 mm / US 3 circular needle and DPN’s
3 mm / US 2.5 circular needle (40 cm / 16 inches long – for the collar)
Tapestry needle, stitch markers, waste yarn or stitch holders
